Holiday Reminders

It’s officially the holiday season and that is exciting for many reasons; good food, loved ones, and preparing for a new year. While this time of year can be fun, it is easy to get wrapped up in all the holiday fuss and forget about some of the responsibilities you have as a tenant.

This season, we would like to remind you of a few things to keep in mind so that we can all continue on a great foot into the new year.

 

  • Tenants are responsible for guests brought into their home. Should guests damage any part of the home, the tenant will be held liable. How the tenant decides to pay for those charges (demanding payment from the guest) is their choice and does not involve your property management team.
  • Speaking of guests, be sure that we are aware if guests will be staying for longer than 5 consecutive days. This is for safety and how many people are legally allowed to be residing in the home at one time according to state/federal law.
  • Make sure your heaters are working properly and that cold air isn’t coming in through your door/window frames. The cold is not something you want to hit you before you realize what the problem is!
  • Ensure your holiday decorations are renter friendly. To help save your security deposit, please refrain from using any decorations that will permanently damage the home or yard (the yard belongs to the property).
  • Be mindful of noise with guests so as not to disturb neighbors
  • If you are going out of town, be sure to lock up. The last thing we want to happen is any break ins. This does not typically happen, but with being out of the area for a long period of time, it is best to be safe.
  • Do NOT discharge fireworks on the property. Not only is this against the law, it is incredibly risky as you can seriously damage the property and end up paying for it.
